A closer look at your card

Let’s look at both sides together: front and back straight on, then tilted towards the light. On supported phones, the camera light helps reveal dust and smudges.

Take the card out of its sleeve

No penny sleeve, toploader or slab. Plastic hides whitening, fine scratches and soft corners. For the clearest estimate, hold the card by its edges with clean, dry hands.

Grade against

All four photos are needed

Front, straight on

Fill the frame with the front of the card, square to the camera.

Back, straight on

Flip the card over and shoot the back square to the camera.

Front, tilted to the light

Tilt the front slowly under the light until dust and scratches show.

Back, tilted to the light

Tilt the back slowly under the light to catch smudges and whitening.

A photo read is an estimate, not a guarantee. Graders judge the card in hand.
